We will always do our utmost to accommodate all orders; however, in order to provide you with the best service possible, we require sufficient time to design and process your commission. The following lead-times are therefore recommended: For Celebration Cakes and Cookies 1 month, for Wedding Cakes and Favours 3 to 6 months. Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. For weddings and celebrations during the peak-season (May to September) we recommend placing your order as early as possible, alternatively you can reserve your date with a £300 non-refundable holding deposit and decide on your design at a later date.
Payment and deposits
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on order confirmation and must be cleared before any work is carried out. The final balance is payable 6 weeks before completion. For orders with less than 6 weeks’ notice, the full payment is required on confirmation and is non-refundable. Payment can be made by BACS transfer, credit card or cheque.
Where possible we will accommodate any changes you wish to make to your order at our discretion and charge you for the additional costs incurred. As wedding cakes require longer lead-times we ask that changes are made no less than 6 weeks prior to completion. Please note that any changes to your order must be confirmed in writing or by email.
Should you cancel your order more than 6 weeks before completion, please note that the holding/confirmation deposit is non-refundable and any specifically ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is additionally chargeable. For orders cancelled within 6 weeks of the completion date, the full balance will be charged.
Delivery & Collection
As part of our service we offer personal delivery and set-up, however, as we can only carry out a limited number of personal deliveries, advance booking is highly recommended during the wedding season. We will liaise with your venue to schedule a delivery slot and to check that all arrangements for assembly such as the cake stand and cake table have been taken care of. Our delivery service is dependent upon availability and will be charged on an hourly basis determined by the travel distance and the time and labour required for assembling the cake. Should you wish to collect your order from the Peggy Porschen Parlour, we will provide you with full transport, assembly and storage instructions where required. Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the order is with the client and Peggy Porschen Cakes Ltd are not liable for any damages thereafter.
