In order to continue evolving our student commitment of excellence, the Peggy Porschen Academy will be taking a sabbatical from its existing programme of masterclasses and Diploma modules in its current format, as of 1st January 2019. We immensely enjoy working with so many talented and wonderful students and look forward to sharing more news regarding our future offerings (and location!) soon. Our remaining course dates are available to book and attend as scheduled on our courses calendar, ending December 2018. We are in the process of contacting all of our existing or current Diploma module students, if you haven't yet heard from us and would like to discuss your courses please contact us on the number or email below. For any existing booking enquiries please contact us on 020 7730 1316 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
What is the minimum age for attending a course?
Due to health and safety regulations, students must be at least 16 years old.
Do I have to bring anything with me for the course?
The Academy supplies all ingredients, tools and equipment, as well as aprons. Students should bring a large heavy-duty carrier bag to take their work home with them.
Do you provide accommodation?
The Academy is a non-residential school, but please see below for a list of local hotels and B&Bs that we recommend.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Gift vouchers are available for purchase over the telephone. You may purchase a general voucher for a desired monetary value or a course voucher to enrol someone in a specific class. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information on our gift vouchers.
How far in advance to I need to pay for a course?
To secure your place, we require the full course fee upon enrolment. Most courses – and particularly the Diploma Modules – tend to fill up quite quickly, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Payment may be made online, over the phone or through BACS transfer.
Do I need a student visa to attend a course at the Academy?
You do not need a student visa to attend our courses; you should be just fine with a tourist visa. But if you are coming from abroad and do require a visa to enter the UK, we recommend you book at least 3 months in advance to allow for your visa application to be processed. We cannot offer a letter of invitation to assist with your visa, however we can send you a letter to confirm your booking. We are unable to offer refunds under any circumstances other than those specified in our cancellation policy, even if your visa is rejected.
Can we take photographs and videos during class?
Students are welcome to take photographs of demonstrations and of their work, but videos and other recordings are strictly prohibited.
Do you provide students with notes?
All students receive a handout with relevant notes that they are welcome to take home with them at the end of the day. All notes will be provided in English language and students are encouraged to take notes during the class.
What is the maximum class size?
Our short courses accommodate a maximum of 8 students, while most of our Diploma Modules are limited to 6 students. Each course will be held by 1 tutor and 1 assistant where required.
Can I enrol in a course if English is not my first language?
We welcome a large number of international students to the Academy, many of whom are not confident with their English. We find that most do not have any communication problems, as the classes are very visual and hands-on and our tutors always take the time to ensure that everyone in the class understands.
Do you have a store for buying the tools and equipment used in class?
The Academy runs a small shop, where a variety of specialised tools and equipment are available for purchase. Students receive a 10% discount on all products for the duration of their class.
Do you provide a lunch break and, if so, are there places to eat locally?
All classes stop for lunch for between 30 minutes and 1 hour. The Peggy Porschen Parlour is just across the road from the Academy, and students receive a 10% discount on all purchases for the duration of their class. There are a number of other local cafes and eateries (for more savoury options!), which your tutor will be happy to recommend before you break for lunch.
If a student cannot attend a course:
The Peggy Porschen Academy is unable to offer refunds on any courses booked. Transfers to another class may be made, but only in extenuating circumstances and at the sole discretion of The Peggy Porschen Academy team. In this case, The Peggy Porschen Academy must be advised in writing at least 1 month prior to the commencement of the class. In the event that you are unable to attend a class and would like to send someone to replace you, please notify the Academy in writing by email to email@example.com .
If the Peggy Porschen Academy (PPA) has to cancel a course:
The Peggy Porschen Academy reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course if it sees necessary. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled or re-scheduled by the PPA, we will give as much notice as possible. We will offer a full refund of the cost of the course fee only, or the option to transfer to another available course. Please be advised that the PPA takes no responsibility for the travel or accommodation expenses you may have incurred, and we advise students who travel from afar to take out travel or cancellation insurance.
Changes to a course:
From time to time it is necessary to update, improve or amend existing course formats according to customer feedback, market trends or for operational reasons. The PPA reserves the right to change or make adjustments to the content of any course without giving prior notice to existing bookings. This will not affect the quality or value of the tuition.
