Headed by award-winning cake designer to the stars, Peggy Porschen, the Academy is London’s first cookery school entirely dedicated to baking, sugar craft skills and contemporary cake design.
Following the tremendous success of her best-selling books coupled with the continued trend for baking and cake decorating, Peggy has designed a fun and educational curriculum for beginners and experienced cake decorators alike.
Courses are perfect for those who would like to gain insight into both the technical mastery of a true professional as well as the skills and commercial knowledge developed over the past decade, which have set Peggy Porschen apart as a leading cake designer in the UK and internationally.
Location & State-of-the-art Facilities Situated just across the road from The Peggy Porschen Parlour in London’s fashionable Belgravia, the Academy is nestled among the chic boutiques of Elizabeth Street. The Academy boasts an intimate state-of-the-art teaching kitchen with a professional-grade oven and a granite bench top – a definite must in any patisserie kitchen. Students have the benefit of working at their own workstation, which includes all tools and equipment and a personal Kitchen Aid mixer.
Teaching Standards The Peggy Porschen Academy is a culmination of Peggy’s training, expertise, talent and creativity. Students are taught Peggy’s unique techniques, as well as encouraged to develop their own skills and style.
Hands-on, Intimate Classes With classes limited to eight students (six on diploma modules), we ensure that each student receives individual attention, guidance and support throughout the learning process. Each student has access to their own tools and equipment and makes all of the set recipes on their own or in pairs. Nevertheless, we also promote teamwork and working as part of a group with like-minded individuals, which helps to foster professional relationships with fellow cake makers from the UK and abroad.
Peggy has personally taught the team at The Peggy Porschen Academy, and each tutor has worked using her techniques for a number of years. Under Peggy’s guidance, the team has acquired extensive experience in making cakes, sugar flowers and cookies and decorating in the style that has become synonymous with the Peggy Porschen brand. Peggy’s style has been practised, perfected and developed into a technique that she aims to share with each Academy student.
